Pages Library vs Custom List for a Company News Solution

    I'm working on a new intranet for my company in a SharePoint 2013 farm. We have a need for a Company News solution and I've been internally debating what the best approach to implementing Company News. I thought I'd post and see what others have done as far as Company News in SharePoint. I could do a subsite that houses the news in the pages library, but I'm not sure if the content providers would want to do a page per news item. The other option I've been considering is creating a news content type to use in a custom list but struggle with how to setup a page to view individual items. Anyone have any suggestions?
