How do I setup an approval workflow with e-mail without using SharePoint Designer?

    I've been searching google for an answer, but everything shows SharePoint Designer as the answer. My work has disabled SharePoint Designer on this site, so it's not an option. Basically I want to send an e-mail to the person in the Manager column to notify them they need to approve the submitted item. Thanks

    I have these templates available from the add workflow section:
    Disposition Approval
    Publishing Approval
    Collect Feedback - SharePoint 2010
    Approval - SharePoint 2010
    Collect Signatures - SharePoint 2010
