I've been banging my head trying to do this with just a stock SPD 2010 Workflow, no InfoPath. I basically want step1 to collect a user (person data type) from a static user, and step2 assign a task or just get some information from that person collected in step1. Using Collect feedback actions, this doesnt seem to work: Collect 'Scheduler' (person data type) from StaticPerson (output to Variable: collect) then Collect schedulerResponse from Variable: Collect(output to var: collect1) I noticed if I try to change the varable "collect" data type to string it throws an error.

I also tried using an approval wf with a custom "scheduler" task form field, then set a workflow var to association: task list field "scheduler" using the related Content field as the lookup back to my original list title field, but that doesn't seem to work either.
Is there any way to accomplish this?
