Sharepoint Online (o365) - can't get content search query web part to only show incomplete...

I have a Content Search webpart that is supposed to query all Tasks assigned to me (user.name) that are not in a Completed State.
AssignedTo:{User.Name} Status<>Completed
doesn't seem to work, as I still see Tasks that if I click on them to go to the Task list, they are crossed off.
I looked online but nothing seems to be helping or showing me accurate information.
This guide says to use "Status OWSCHCS" in property filter -- I don't see it.
This guide says add "PercentComplete" to Search Schema as Integer, yet those options aren't even selectable for me.
Anyone know what I can do to make it work? It's SharePoint online so I'm not sure what exact version it is. It comes with Office 365.
