Creating a calculated column with Workflow status

    Good morning!

    It's my first time on this reddit as I'm relatively new to using Sharepoint Designer.

    I'm trying to create a calculated column with the status from a Workflow status column, as end-users seeing "Completed" in the Workflow column find it confusing and believe it means the file was approved.

    The error message, this is not possible .

    I've read somewhere that the "typical" workaround would be to copy the status to a custom column, so that it can be referenced from there.

    How exactly can I do this? I've been looking at options through the Workflow in Sharepoint Designer, but haven't found any function that seems to simply "copy" the string from the Workflow Status column to somewhere else.

    Let me know if you need more info.
